| Every
year around 600,000 people retire in the UK. But what do they retire
to? The majority will probably be looking forward to a life, pottering
around the garden or house, maybe with the odd trip out. This is
fine, but surely having worked for the last 45 years there should
be more to look forward to...
It is perfectly normal to
feel apprehensive about moving to a foreign country, but lets
not forget that Spain is only a two hour flight from England, so
you can get to Spain, quicker, than driving from London to Cardiff.
Pensions both private and
state can be transferred directly into your spanish account.
The medical care in Spain
is excellent with a better service and reputation than the UK.
Spain is as modern as Northern
Europe as they have leap-frogged us in many aspects
of technology, whereas we have gradually upgraded. As they have
brought in all this new technology in the past few years, in many
ways they are more advanced than us.
Billions of Euros have been
spent on new roads and motorways, hospitals and telecommunications
systems, bringing Spain in to the 21st Century.
Having said all the above,
Spain has retained its culture and history. So you can have the
best of both worlds.
Apart from the obvious advantages
of living in a warmer climate, the health aspect is often overlooked.
The Spanish Costas have a marvellous climate which is especially
beneficial to sufferers of Arthritis and Rheumatism, and you can
forget expensive central heating bills.
With a substantially lower cost of living than the UK due to mild
winters there are no hefty fuel bills, food is cheaper since fresh
food and vegetables are grown locally all the year round, and rateable
values on the properties are also much cheaper.
Therefore not only will your
money go further, but it enables you to live life rather than just
live... |
